The Story

Aphéliote was born from the simple observation of a mother of a 4-year-old girl: it is very difficult to find a pretty twirling skirt, furthermore online. Because it does not appear to be a relevant criterion for children's clothing brands: this characteristic rarely appears in the name or description of the product, it is not possible to sort offers according to this criterion... However, we don't know about you, but at home, it's every day on the day of the twirling skirt! If we ask "what do you want to wear today, sweetie?", the answer is always "a twirling skirt!!!"

So to make your life easier, we have created Aphéliote, the site where ALL skirts are designed to super well twirl and look super great.

Why Aphéliote? Because it's the name of a Greek divinity of the wind, the one that makes little girls' skirts fly. Our mate somehow. The logo was all found: a nice coloured "toy windmill". But by the way, did you notice that there is no specific word for this object? We decided to call it an apheliote, in all modesty.

L'atelier d'Aphéliote

Our skirts are made with love in a small workshop in Aire-sur-l'Adour, France. Because maintaining local employment, respecting high social and environmental standards and controlling production conditions are values that we defend. Far from the fast fashion, we are committed to the "Made in France" movement for a more ethical consumption.

In the same way:

- We limit unnecessary labels and packaging on our products;

- We are partners of "Les carottessont cute", which valorizes our inevitable scraps of fabric by transforming them into accessories for a zero-waste life;

- We have our accessories manufactured by people with disabilities at ESAT du Gua in Ambarès-et-Lagrave, near Bordeaux.
